Nomad8 Talks
Thu, Apr 21, 2022
If you’ve been missing your awesome conference fix, you’re not alone. The last two years have been JAFAC-less and remote-full and we feel your pain. We miss seeing you all too! And we miss speaking. Welcome to Mini-JAFAC - online!
Come along and be inspired, intrigued, invigorated or impressed and hear what a few of us at Nomad8 have been thinking about lately.
Join us for virtual conversations and presentations from Sandy Mamoli, Gavin Coughlan, Brenda Leeuwenberg and Tony O’Halloran. Finish off the day with a sneaky gin / tea / sparkling water / wine and an opportunity to meet the Nomad8 crew, from the comfort of your own remote workspace - and ours.
We will present 4 short talks followed by Q&A and conversations. Will they be lightning talks? No they will not.
- When is this amazing event? Thursday 21 April 2022, 2-5pm.
- Where will it be? Online, it’ll be online. But it’ll be a fun kind of online!
- How do I sign up? Register for a spot in the virtual theatre.
- How much will it cost me? Nothing. Zip. Nada. It’s free.
So, what are the talks?
Measure teams, not individual performance
Sandy Mamoli
Why is it that we are still obsessed with the performance of the individual in our modern team-based organisations? Shouldn’t we measure and compare teams instead? Not for the sake of competing, but to learn from each other.
Psychological safety: make it happen
Gavin Coughlan
The benefits of having psychological safety in the workplace are well-known. It’s generally accepted that it’s a necessity if you want to retain people and encourage innovation. But has it become another buzzword that has lost all meaning?
Leading responsible adults
Brenda Leeuwenberg
How have the events of the last 2 years impacted our workplace culture and our ability to be and to lead adults? What can we do to successfully flex into the hybrid workspace?
Navigating the grey with reflection sessions
Tony O’Halloran
Reflection sessions is a conversation format designed to take advantage of the wisdom and experience of groups to help you move forward in challenging, complex situations. In this session you’ll learn about why and how to use this format and have a chance to experience one in real time. Each talk will be 20 minutes + time for questions and discussion
(We are not planning to put JAFAC on until we have some degree of reassurance that it will actually happen and be safe - stay tuned for news on this.)
